FID-Licences

In order to advance german cutting-edge research on Eastern Europe, the Fachinformationsdienst Ost-, Ostmittel- und Südosteuropa (FID OE) has started with support of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) to provide access to scientific databases and research tools. 

The following databases and tools are licensed and available for researchers:

 

Cold War Intelligence. The Secret War between the US and the USSR, 1945-1991 (Provider: Brill)

The database offers access to full text archival material on the Cold War. In total, 2,360 documents from US-government agencies on US-espionage activities in connection with the USSR and Eastern Europe can be accessed.

Integrum Social Networks (Provider: Integrum)

The product is a tool which allows to analyse and monitor social networks like Facebook, Google+, VKontakte, Twitter and Blogs. You can search with keywords, analyse the the posts and visualise the results.

The Stalin Digital Archives (Provider: EastView)

The Stalin Digital Archives offer users a research environment built around vast materials on Stalin. Different tools like annotations are available for individual use. The full text archive contains 28,000 digitalised documents from the "Fond 558" at the Russian State Archive of Socio-Political History in Moscow. They offer insights into many aspects of Stalin's rule and biography.

Ukraine: Social Movements, Elections, Ephemera Collections (Provider: EastView)

The collection consist of four database of digitalised documents (no searchable full texts) on the following events in Ukraine: a) Parliamentary election 2012, b) Maidan-protests 2013/2014, c) Presidential election 2014, d) Parliamentary election 2014. You can access flyers, brochures, websites and other grey literature on the mentioned events.

World of Children – Artek Pioneer Camp Archives, 1944-1967 Online (Provider: Brill)
