Sibirica

The digital collection „Sibirica“ (663 titels) contains rare books, maps and manuscripts from the exploration of Sibiria and the North Pole region from the Asch-collection of Goettingen State and University Library.

Through cooperation with the American-Russian multimedia-based digitization  project “Meeting of Frontiers” of the Library of Congress in Washington, “Sibirica” could be complemented by very rare books, photographs, maps and other source materials from the Library of Congress, the Russian State Library and the National Library of Russia.

The Sibirica collection provides important, but up to now difficult to access holdings and materials for research in digital form. It is available worldwide and free of charge.
